Hey everyone,

Why don't we do some creation of some web pages through first class for next time and maybe a blog (using one)?
Maybe we could also see how iWeb works for web page creation.

It would also be nice to break off into teaching streams and share or brainstorm different ways to use technology in the classroom and school. I think it is always useful and helpful to share with others.

We could take a look at how to use ePearl as an online portfolio.

We could maybe look at podcasts and how to use them in the classroom. What kind of podcast software is out there to record audio or video podcasts? Would it be set up online like iTunes but somehow safer to keep the general public from listening to it? Should we be worried what kind of things get made into audio/video podcasts to keep our students safe? Would allowing students to create podcasts mean making changes to the Internet Usage Form? I found a Podcast website made for kids by kids called www.kid-cast.com. The website states that they evaluate and rate the podcast before it gets posted. Can we evaluate it as a group or have a tour of it as a group? - S. Froese.

Another idea for PD would be to look at doing TUSC in the classroom using podcasts. TUSC is the Totally Unique Speaking Club that has been popular in gr. 4 and up classrooms. This is the website for it: www.protopage.com/speaking . The website has an area for posting student podcasts, a TUSC research area and other resources. The speaking roles are all described online. There was a SAG session done on this TUSC website using LwICT this past year I think. Susan Phillips gave this information to me and I thought this would be a good place for everyone in the group to know about it. -S. Froese
